Surface Preparation & Precautions

Make sure wood material is fully kiln dried/treated.
If previously painted, strip off all loose and chalking paint with A-Plus Supertanggal® Paint Remover. If necessary, remove wood discoloration by applying A-Plus® Wood Bleach #1 & #2.
Sand surface smooth to eliminate surface imperfections. Correct surface imperfections using Glazer® Auto Lacquer Putty or A-Plus Wood-Tite® Natural Wood Filler.
Surface to be applied on must be thoroughly cleaned, free of any contaminants that can affect adhesion such as wax, oil, grease, moisture, and loose particles.
Avoid painting under extreme environmental conditions and/ or bad weather conditions.

Painting Procedure

New Wood:

Primer: Apply at least 2 coats of A-Plus® NC Lacquer Primer Surfacer via spray application. Sand lightly(#220/#440) before topcoat application. Allow at least 1 hr drying before putty.
Putty: Correct surface imperfections (especially for open grain wood) using A-Plus® Fast-Drying Plastic Wood Filler. Allow to cure for at least 1 hr before sanding and applying another coat of A-Plus® NC Lacquer Primer Surfacer then sand again.
Final coat: Apply at least 2 coats of A-Plus® NC Lacquer Topcoat color of choice. Perform sufficient sanding in between each coat.

Repainting:

Strip off old paint using A-Plus Supertanggal® Paint Remover. If old lacquer finish is in good condition, sand surface.
Primer: Apply at least 2 coats of A-Plus® NC Lacquer Primer Surfacer. Sand lightly(#220/#440) before topcoat application. Allow at least 1 hr drying before putty.
Make sure surface is clean and dry before applying A-Plus® NC Lacquer Topcoat. Apply at least 2 coats.

(Note: 10% by volume of A-Plus® PG Lacquer Flo is added to the varnish mixture just before application to prevent moisture blushing)
