Surface Preparation & Precautions

Make sure wood material is fully kiln dried/treated.
If previously painted, strip off all loose and chalking paint with A-Plus Supertanggal® Paint Remover. To remove any wood discoloration, apply A-Plus® Wood Bleach #1 & #2.
Sand surface smooth using #180 grit sandpaper to eliminate surface imperfections.
Patch up surface imperfections using A-Plus® Enamel Glazing Putty or A-Plus® Fast Drying Plastic Wood Filler.
Surface to be applied on must be thoroughly cleaned, free of any contaminants that can affect adhesion such as wax, oil, grease, moisture, and loose particles.
Avoid painting under extreme environmental conditions and/or bad weather conditions.

Painting Procedure

NEW WOOD SURFACES:

Sealer: Apply the appropriate sealer using the chosen paint system.
Stain (Optional): Apply A-Plus® Oil Wood Stain using either brush or spray.
Putty: A-Plus® Enamel Glazing Putty or A-Plus® Fast Drying Plastic Wood Filler. Sand lightly before topcoat application.
Topcoat: Apply at least 1-2 coats paint of choice A-Plus® Wood and Floor Varnishes.

REPAINTING:

Strip off old paint using A-Plus Supertanggal® Paint and Varnish Remover. If old finish is in good condition, sand surface thoroughly.
If necessary, apply A-Plus® Wood Bleach #1 & #2 to remove discoloration on wood.
Make sure to clean and dry surface before applying A-Plus® Oil Wood Stain.
