A-Plus Crenax® Micro Patching Solution is a state-of-the-art nanoparticulate binder that is formulated to be mixed with portland cement to form a uniform paste-like solution. It is a patching solution that chemically reacts and fills deeply within the concrete pores to restore surface imperfections along the surface. It exhibits excellent adhesion and is suitable for high-speed burnishing/grinding. The A-Plus Crenax® system is ideal for long-term protection of concrete floors and surfaces such as warehouses, showrooms, commercial spaces, and many more.

Surface Preparation & Precautions

Precautions:

1. Various concrete mix designs will differ in compressive strength, curing characteristics, aggregate requirements, and many more. Consult a professional before selecting the right solution for your project.
2. Do not use acid etching products on areas or surfaces to be treated.
3. Product must be applied directly to bare mineral substrates only. During treatment, surfaces may tend to become slippery.
4. Do not apply on direct sunlight or on extreme weather conditions. During treatment and curing, keep water away as this will interfere with the reaction process.
5. Reactions differ from slab to slab therefore an even sheen can not always be achieved.
6. This product will not hide cracks, blemishes, and other concrete defects or surface imperfections.

Surface Preparation:

1. Wash area to be treated with a cleaner using either a stiff brush or grinding machine to remove residues that could inhibit contact between the product and the concrete surface. Allow at least overnight for the concrete surface to dry.
2. Surface to be treated must be dry, sound, and firm, free from dust, dirt, laitance, oil, waxes, and other contaminants.
3. For Fresh Concrete: Allow to cure for at least 2 weeks before application of product.
4. For Old Concrete: Using a grinding machine, make 3-6 passes using Grit #25 Metal Pads, followed by 2 passes – Grit #80 Metal Pads.
5. To repair concrete surface imperfections, use either of the following:

– A-Plus Procrete® Crack Injection Construction Epoxy – used for filling non-structural cracks and imperfections.

– A-Plus Procrete® Low Viscosity Construction Epoxy – used for patching medium-sized concrete imperfections covering a large area.

– A-Plus Procrete® High Viscosity Construction Epoxy – used for patching larger-sized concrete imperfections covering smaller areas.

1. Vacuum surface clean while using any machine-assisted grinding tools.

Painting Procedure

Application Procedure:

1. Stir and mix contents thoroughly prior to application.
2. Apply A-Plus Crenax® Concrete Densifying Hardener wet-in-wet using a brush, roller, or squeegee to form a continuous film.
3. Spread product evenly until the concrete floor is soaked wet. Let sit for at least 20 minutes before wiping off excess product. If surface is very porous, apply another treatment after 2 hours.
4. Once cured, surface may be burnished at high speed (>1000 rpm) to achieve a satin gloss finish.
5. If added gloss is desired, apply thin coats of A-Plus Crenax® Concrete Wet-Look Polishing Gloss. Let dry for at least 1 hour before burnishing at ultra high speed(>2000 rpm).
6. The surface accepts pedestrian floor traffic after 2 hours and light vehicles after 24 hours. Keep water away for at least 5 days. Maximum water resistance is fully developed in 1 week.

Using a Grinding/Burnishing Machine:

1. 2-3 passes – Grit #50 Metal Pads
2. 2 passes – Grit #80 Metal Pads
3. Patch up substrate imperfections using A-Plus Procrete® Construction Epoxies
4. 2 passes – Grit #150 Metal Pads
5. 1 pass – Grit #150 Resin Pads
6. Apply A-Plus Crenax® Concrete Densifying Hardener (Allow to cure for at least 2 hours)
7. 1 pass – Grit #300 Resin Pads (Matte Gloss Appearance)
8. 1 pass – Grit #500 Resin Pads (Semi-Gloss Appearance)
9. 1 pass – Grit #800 Resin Pads (Glossy Appearance)
10. Apply A-Plus Crenax® Concrete Wet-Look Polishing Gloss (Allow to cure for at least 2 hours)
11. 1 pass – Grit #1500 or #3000 Resin Pads (High Gloss Appearance)
