Two-Component System

A-Plus Floor Guard® 100% Solids & Self-Levelling Epoxy Floor Coatings comes in two components:

    • Paint base
    • Catalyst (hardener) Mix at a 3:1 ratio (by volume).

Thinning Instructions

Use as supplied. No need to thin or add anything aside from the supplied catalyst.

For clean-up, use A-Plus® PG Epoxy Reducer before the product hardens.

❓ Do I Need a Primer?

Yes! Use A-Plus Floor Guard® Concrete Sealer as your primer before applying the topcoat.

How many coats do I need?

One coat of A-Plus Floor Guard® Concrete Sealer

And one coat of A-Plus Floor Guard® 100% Solids & Self-Levelling Epoxy Floor Coating

How long between coats?

Allow 6 hours after applying the sealer before you apply the topcoat.

Dry Through

Overnight you can use already for light foot traffic. But give it 3-7 days to achieve full strength before you open for heavy vehicular traffic.

Coverage:

25-30 sqm per gallon for the sealer coat and 8-10 sqm per gallon at 400-600 micrometers thickness for the topcoat.

Outdoors or Indoors?

This product is not UV-resistant and should only be used indoors. Sun exposure may cause yellowing or fading.

Tools for Application

    • V-notched trowel or squeegee for self-levelling application
    • Spiked roller to eliminate trapped air and bubbles
    • Paint brush or roller for the primer coat

Self-Levelling?

Yes! So easy to apply. Just pour and spread with your trowel or squeegee.

Pot life

Once mixed, the product has a pot life of 30 minutes to 1 hour—apply immediately before it begins to harden.

Surface Preparation

For concrete substrates, follow these surface preparation procedures:

    1. Remove any oil and dirt by detergent cleaning.
    2. Sand or use mechanical floor grinder with large grit to level the surface and allow paint to enhance grit and adhesion.
    3. Again, clean the surface and let dry completely before application.
    4. If previously painted, remove old paint with A-Plus SuperTanggal® Paint Remover.
    5. Do not apply over concrete previously painted with epoxy paint without removing the old finish first.
    6.  If you have large concrete surface imperfection, you need to repair these first to ensure safety, proper adhesion and to make sure your new paint looks good and flawless.

🔧 For concrete repair, you may use A-Plus Procrete® Low Viscosity Construction Epoxy for patching medium sized concrete imperfections covering a large area.

🔧 For patching larger sized concrete imperfections covering smaller areas, you may use A-Plus Procrete® High Viscosity Construction Epoxy.

Painting Procedure

For concrete substrates, follow these painting procedures:

    1. Again, ensure all surface to be painted is free from dust, dirt and other foreign contaminants
    2. Your first coat shall serve as your primer/sealer. Apply your first coat of A-Plus Floor Guard® Concrete Sealer using a nap roller or paint brush.
    3. Allow to cure at least 6 hours before the next step.
    4. Apply 1 coats of A-Plus Floor Guard ® Epoxy Floor Coating as topcoat using a V-notched squeegee. Pour a generous amount of the paint on the floor then spread evenly using the selected application tool.
    5.  Use a spiked roller to remove any trapped air from the coating.
    6. Allow the surface to cure overnight before subjecting to light foot traffic and 3-7 before subjecting to heavy vehicular traffic.
