Chlorinated Rubber-Based Floors: What You Need to Know
So you have decided to go for one of the most practical floor paint options for your garage: CRB or Chlorinated Rubber Based Paint or more specifically and more importantly A-Plus Floor Master®
Chlorinated Rubber Based Floor Coating.
Great choice! Read on to learn how to get the most out of your selection—from product specifications, color options, surface preparation, application procedures, and maintenance.
What is CRB Paint?
Chlorinated Rubber-Based Floor Coatings (CRB) are one-component, modified acrylic solvent based coatings designed to deliver superior outdoor durability and extreme abrasion resistance.
They are easy to apply and cure quickly to a semi-gloss finish that withstands abrasion, water, chemicals, and UV exposure. This makes CRB the top choice for exposed areas such as parking spaces, roof decks, and outdoor sports surfaces where constant sun, weather, chemical exposure, and friction occur.
- Getting Started
Before you begin, here are some things you should know about A-Plus Floor Master® Chlorinated Rubber Based Floor Coating or CRB paints in general:
One-Component, Ready-to-Use
Unlike two-component epoxy paints that require mixing, A-Plus Floor Master® Chlorinated Rubber Based Floor Coating comes in a single 4-liter can. Just mix well before use.
Thinning Instructions
You’ll need a thinning agent to reduce the paint’s viscosity. Use only A-Plus Floor Master® Reducer for optimal results.
- First Coat (as primer): 25% dilution
- Succeeding Topcoats: 10% dilution
❓ Do I Need a Primer?
You may use A-Plus Floor Master® Chlorinated Rubber Based Floor Coating as its own primer, just thin your first coat by 25%.
For added strength, especially on steel floors, you can use Glazer Galva-Plus® Epoxy Primer as a base.
How many coats do I need?
At least one coat as primer then as topcoat, one to two more coats.
How long between coats?
Wait one hour for surface dry. But wait at least 2 to 3 hrs. in between coats.
Overnight you can use already for light foot traffic. But give it 3-7 days to achieve full strength before you open for heavy vehicular traffic.
Coverage:
20-25 sqm per gallon/coat for the first coat and 25-30 sqm per gallon / coat for the succeeding coats.

- Again, clean the surface and let dry completely before application.
- If previously painted, remove old paint with A-Plus SuperTanggal® Paint Remover.
